3 Missing In Collision In Singaporean Water

A Tanker Kartika Segara and a dredger JBB De Rong 19 collided in Singaporean Water around 01:00 am on  Wednesday 13/09/2017. Kartika Segara is Indonesian registered vessel and dredger is a Dominican registered.

The dredger was consisting of 12 crew members ( 11 Chinese and 1 Malaysian)out of which 3 are still missing,2 bodies have found and other 7 Chinese are rescued and moved to the Hospital for general treatment by Singapore Police Coast Guard (PCG).

Kartika Segara consisting of 26 Indonesian crew members and all are safe without any injury.

The Indonesian registered Kartika Segara has damaged to its starboard Bow. It is stable and anchored at Eastern Anchorage. The Dredger capsized and was partially submerged.

The incident happened when Kartika Segara was departing the port and joining eastbound lane whereas Dredger was transiting westbound zone in Singapore Strait.

MPA conducting rescue operation and deployed rescue boats and a helicopter the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)  said that there is no disruption to shipping traffic in the Singapore strait due to this incident.
