Freighter Breached Causing Oil Spill

On April 12, General cargo ship PAC ANTARES spilled oil in the Mississippi waterway.

Reports say the ship had been breached in allision with pier at New Orleans, while being moored on arrival, according to USCG report.

She arrived from Houston and currently the ship is berthed at West Riverside, New Orleans.

Oil leak was reported and a section of Mississippi waterway was closed for traffic, from mile 91 to mile 101 marks.

The leak said to be already sealed, there was an auxiliary boat at PAC ANTARES side as of morning April 13.
