Gas Leak Causes Death On Ship

On April 22, FENG HUI HAI admitted 3 of its crew members to the hospital at Jamnagar port, Gujarat.

The Crew members were Chinese and were witnessing poisonous gas symptoms.

They were rushed to the hospital by tugs from the bulk carrier FENG HUI HAI.

On arrival to hospital, two were declared dead and one is treated for poisoning.

On Apr 21, Bulk carrier entered Gulf of Kutch, arriving from Indonesia with cargo of coal.

Coal gas is the cause of an accident – one crew went into hold and was affected by gas, two other went in to help him, and also suffered gas poisoning.

Media mentioned gas leak, but didn’t give possible source of leak

Bulk carrier presently is anchored off Jamnagar, Gujarat, Gulf of Kutch.
