Immediatelyafter he suggested Priyanka's name, many other party leaders, includingformer state Congress chief Arun Yadav, backed the proposal.Should the party heed to the clamour for Priyanka, the others will have tofight for the sole seat.VOTER LIST OF 4 YRS, LAND RECORDS. 15 DOCUMENTS CAN'T PROVE CITIZENSHIPAs many as 15 documents which included voter lists of four years, a parent'sNRC clearance, land revenue payment receipts, certificates from the villageheadman attesting to permanent residency and marriage, ration card, PAN cardand bank passbook have been rejected by the Gauhati High Court as proof ofIndian citizenship.In an indication of the challenges that lie ahead in a proposed nationwideNRC exercise, Jabeda Begum alias Jabeda Khatun, of Guwahari village inTamulpur of Baksa district (Assam), submitted these documents to back herclaim of citizenship after being declared "a foreigner of post-1971 stream"by a Foreigners Tribunal in May 2019.She lost the challenge with the High Court ruling that she "failed to proveher linkage with her projected parents and her projected brother".To be considered an Indian citizen in Assam, one has to prove either she orher ancestors have been living in Assam before 1971, the Assam Accordcut-off date.Syed Burhanur Rahman, an advocate in the High Court, said: "What workedagainst Begum is that she was not able to link her relationship with herparents...Technically, the court order has no fault."RAILWAYS ROOTS OUT ILLEGAL SOFTWARE, MORE TATKAL TICKETS NOWMore Tatkal tickets will be available for passengers now as the railways hasweeded out illegal softwares and arrested 60 agents who would use them toblock such tickets, a top official said on Tuesday.Officials explained that illegal softwares such as 'ANMS', 'MAC' and'Jaguar' would bypass the IRCTC's login captcha, booking captcha and bankOTP to generate tickets, while a genuine user has to go through all theseprocesses.The booking process for a general user usually takes around 2.55 minutes,but those using these softwares could do it in just around 1.48 minutes,they explained.The Railway Protection Force has nabbed around 60 illegal agents who werebooking tickets through these softwares, making it virtually impossible forothers to get Tatkal bookings.AT AIIMS, ORGANS OF TWO BRAIN DEAD DONORS SAVE 7 LIVES IN 48 HOURSIndia's premier medical institute the All India Institute of MedicalSciences (AIIMS), Delhi, received organ donations from the families of twobrain dead patients in a span of past 48 hours, hospital authoritiesconfirmed on Tuesday.The two hearts, four kidneys, two livers, four corneas and bones of a26-year-old man from Kashganj in Uttar Pradesh, and a 61-year-old Delhi manhave already been transplanted.Sixty one-year-old Anil Mittal was a pledged donor with the Dadhichi Deh DanSamiti, an organisation that works in generating awareness about andpromoting organ donation in the country.The other donation came from Sachin, 26, who was a daily wage labourerworking in Delhi and was brought to AIIMS Trauma Centre after he fell fromthe second floor of a building on Thursday, February 13. Two days later, onFebruary 15, he was declared brain dead.
