Bharat Bandh LIVE| 54-Year-Old Man Died Of Heart Attack in Delhi's Singhu Border

 

Bharat Bandh 2021: All emergency establishments and essential services, including hospitals, medical stores, relief and rescue work and people attending to personal emergencies will be exempted from the strike.

A 10-hour Bharat Bandh called by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) to mark the first anniversary of the three controversial farm laws getting Presidential assent began on Monday morning. The SKM has said that all government and private offices, educational and other institutions, shops, industries and commercial establishments will be closed across the nation during the strike. No public events and functions will be allowed, it said. However, all emergency establishments and essential services, including hospitals, medical stores, relief and rescue work and people attending to personal emergencies, will be exempted from the strike.

Protesting farmer ended life in Ludhiana by hanging self

 

A 65-year-old farmer, who has been protesting at Ghulal Toll barrier for the last 10 months, ended his life on Sunday by hanging self from a pipe using a piece of cloth that is used to wrap around head. The incident happened hours before today's Bharat Bandh by farmer unions. The deceased farmer's wife is also participating in protest against Centre's three farm laws at Delhi's Tikri border. Farmers learnt about the incident when they saw the deceased's hanging body on Monday morning.

A 54-year-old man named Bagel Ram, who was a member of farmers' outfit Kirti Kisan Union, died on Sunday after having a heart attack. The Kirti Kisan Union leader Gurnam Bhagad said that Ram wasn't a farmer, but a labourer and had arrived with one of the farmers' groups at Delhi's Singhu border on September 18. “He had been feeling unwell since yesterday,” Bhagad added.
